Who am I?

Hi! I go by Georgia around these parts. Welcome to my art doll boutique “Amiable Curios.” I’d like to think of this website as a boutique instead of a regular shop as every item page is handcrafted and unique just like my creations.

Depicted here is an orange cat art doll. The cat's head and paws are made out of polymer clay. The eyes are orange as well and made out of glass. The cat has a rather serious and a little sad expression, as if he had a long life and all of his experiences show on his face. The cat has a fluffy striped white and orange tail. The body is orange and white fur fabric. The cat has a necklace with beads and red and silver fish, as well as a sea horse charm.

What do I do?

I make one-of-a-kind art dolls and figurines as a hobby. I am a full-time artist with focus on painting and sculpture, but making cute friendly creatures is my other creative outlet. This is the reason I created this art doll boutique separately from my main gallery. I hope they’ll invoke a feeling of happiness in your inner child!

How do I do it?

Every art doll is different, but I generally follow similar technique for each creation. I sculpt some parts out of polymer clay, then I sew other parts and stuff them with pure clouds! Finally, a splash of paint, a spray of varnish and a bit of fairy dust, and the dolls is ready for the world. That’s exactly how it happens, I promise!

While I wanted to have a big website launch with lots of art dolls and pages, life does get in the way. For now, this website is a work in progress, and it being a hobby, I progress rather slowly. However, I will try to add new pages and new creations weekly!

Sometimes, you just have to attach polymer clay parts together. Or maybe you need to fix small breakages, things happen. I use cyanoacrylate adhesive or simply put Super Glue for polymer clay! At the start of their crafting journey, a lot of people wonder whether varnishing polymer clay is necessary. The short answer is no! However, there are times when it is beneficial.
